London Tourist Coach Operators Association

WPML not installed and activated.

The Association

Private hire coaches are estimated to be worth over £300 million a year to London’s economy and with over 3000 coach movements in our capital city every single day we want to ensure that coaches continue to be respected as one of London’s valuable assets. Coaches are:

  • energy efficient
  • environmentally friendly, and
  • efficient users of road space

They also offer many social and economic advantages over and above other forms of transport. Private-hire coaches provide a ‘safe’ environment for those not familiar with public transport. They provide organised visits for business, education, sports and social groups who might otherwise travel using cars. Coach Operators play a significant role in transport now and in the future; they offer flexibility and an ability to respond rapidly.

The London Tourist Coach Operators’ Association is a trade body run by coach operators who have a wealth of experience of the challenges associated with coach operations in London.

Our members are coach operators including some of the larger national companies; and many smaller family run businesses. All operate coaches in London and are challenged with the facilities, penalties and restrictions that exist each and every day. The importance of our customers is paramount; not only to our own businesses but also their commercial value to our capital city. We are well aware of the limitations to kerb-space in London, but are working hard with our partners to ensure that the space that does exist is utilised as best as it possibly can be. LTCOA is working with TfL and the local authorities to improve set down and pick up arrangements for London’s major venues and both short and long term parking facilities to ensure that our drivers are given the facilities to do their job.

For 2017 we are delighted to announce that LTCOA is, once again, working closely with Wrightsure Insurance our sponsor organisation:

Wrightsure Insurance are our major sponsor for the year. Their contributions to our monthly newletters include valuable information and helpful advise for all Operators.

The LTCOA represents a single voice for coach operators in our great Capital City. Unreceptive local authorities and Transport for London are making life a misery for our industry and through our Association we hope that we can make a difference making the pick up and set down of our groups trouble free.

At Redwing Coaches we pride ourselves in the quality of our services – nothing is left to chance. But too often when it comes to visiting London our customers are inconvenienced by unrealistic restrictions. This has to change our customers are also London’s customers we have to work to offer them the very best experience.

The Association membership unites operators in a powerful way. By pooling the resources and knowledge of members, the LTCOA is able to accomplish goals far beyond the scope of any single coach company.
